Hello all,
We have had a bout of sickness on board these past 24 hours, with half my 24 man crew going down with the most terrible stomach trouble known to man! I wasn't one of them, luckily, but those of us who weren't sick have had to work double shifts to keep 'The Jolly Podger' afloat. We were glad to dock in Senegal early this morning...
After many hours following our map we filled our sacks with gold and silver, just as we had hoped. It was swelteringly hot as we made our way back to shore and we were glad to get back in our bunks safe and sound for a well earned rest. Most of us were just dropping off when Old Redbeard raised the alarm from the look-out post. He says he saw Wild Eyed Pete's ship - 'This 'Orrible Lot' - across the ocean and we spent the rest of the day on high alert, waiting for his attack.
So far there is no sign of him and nothing has happened, but we will be on high alert through the night tonight, just in case.
The treasure hunting is going really well this trip, and we're looking forward to our next stop - Antarctica - because The Kid has been there before and says it is piled high with jewels the size of footballs! We're heading there now.
No questions for me, yet? Ask me anything - don't be shy!
Until tomorrow,
J X
P.S. Photos of Senegal attached - have you been?
